पादं सब्रह्मचारिभ्यः पादं कालक्रमेण च||
--> A quarter portion of all learning is obtained from the teacher, a quarter through his(the student's) own intellect. A quarter is obtained from his fellow students, and another quarter of the knowledge gets accumulated with the passage of time.
